Compare Ford trucks before building your order

F-250 and F-350 pickups are useful models to compare for everyday work, materials and trailers. F-350 and F-450 also have chassis cab applications. F-550 and F-600 chassis cabs support commercial body planning; F-750 needs a medium-duty application review. Your exact load and configuration decide suitability.

Payload, towing capacity and GVWR: what matters when ordering?

Payload covers the weight carried by the truck, including occupants, cargo, added equipment and trailer tongue or pin load. GVWR limits the loaded truck. Towing also depends on the exact trailer rating, GCWR, hitch and axle ratings. A higher model number does not guarantee more usable pickup payload.

Do I need exact cargo or trailer weights to use this guide?

No. Choose approximate ranges or “not sure.” The guide uses the upper end of selected ranges to plan carried load and filters the supplied payload/GVWR reference. Pickup towing ceilings only exclude clearly oversized requests; no exact tow configuration is approved. Before ordering, confirm actual weights with Frank and your upfitter.

Should I order single or dual rear wheels?

Select SRW or DRW if your application requires it, or let the guide compare both. Dual rear wheels do not by themselves guarantee payload or towing capacity; axle, tires, configuration and load distribution matter.

Can I choose a truck under or over a GVWR limit?

Yes. Select strictly under, at or under, strictly over, or at or over a chosen GVWR threshold. A rating is different from actual operating weight; confirm application-specific requirements before ordering.

Is the suggested truck guaranteed to handle my load?

No. Suggestions are preliminary families to compare, not a towing approval or certified remaining payload. Maximum payload and towing figures may belong to different configurations. Final capacity requires the exact completed vehicle specification.
