Vehicle & Upfit Cost
Vehicle price and commercial equipment can affect the total amount being included in the transaction.
Lease Term
Changing the term changes the amount of time over which the lease structure is calculated and can affect the applicable residual.
Residual Value
A higher residual may reduce scheduled payments, but in an open-ended TRAC lease the lessee remains responsible for the residual at lease-end.
Don’t choose a residual simply to create the lowest payment. The residual should make sense for the expected vehicle use, mileage, term, equipment and anticipated value at lease-end.Actual Ford residuals and lease structures must be determined as part of the actual transaction.
Upfits Can Be Part of the Commercial Lease Strategy
Commercial vehicles often need equipment before they are ready to go to work.
Ford CommerciaLease materials describe flexibility for eligible commercial upfits and specialized equipment. Depending on the approved transaction, qualifying equipment may be incorporated into the lease structure.
Transit Van Equipment
Shelving, partitions, ladder racks, storage systems and other eligible commercial equipment can be considered as part of the completed work vehicle.
Work Truck Equipment
Service bodies, utility bodies and other qualifying commercial equipment can be reviewed when the vehicle and financing are structured.
Residualized Upfits
Eligible equipment may receive residual treatment under an approved commercial lease structure rather than necessarily having its full cost recovered during the scheduled payments.
Upfit treatment varies. This public estimator does not automatically assign a separate residual value to an upfit.Actual upfit eligibility and residual treatment must be reviewed as part of the transaction.
Additional Products to Consider
Monthly payment is only one part of operating a commercial vehicle. Unexpected repairs, maintenance costs and vehicle loss can also affect the total cost of operating a fleet.
Commercial GAP Coverage
Ask about current Commercial GAP availability, eligibility, cost, limitations and coverage when structuring the transaction.
Ford Protect Extended Service Plan
Ford Protect offers extended service coverage options for eligible commercial and fleet vehicles. Available coverage, terms and covered components vary.
Ford Protect Premium Maintenance
Maintenance plans can help businesses plan for scheduled maintenance costs and certain covered wear items, depending on the plan selected.
Understand the Residual Before You Lease
CommerciaLease is different from a traditional closed-end consumer lease.
A TRAC lease uses an established residual value as part of the lease structure, and the lessee is responsible for that residual at lease-end under the terms of the actual agreement.
That makes residual selection an important business decision. The goal should not simply be to maximize the residual in order to create the lowest possible monthly payment.
Simple planning example: If a $60,000 vehicle uses a 45% planning residual, the estimated residual is $27,000.That $27,000 remains an important part of the open-ended TRAC lease structure.

The Ford TRAC Lease Payment Estimator on FleetOrdering.com is provided solely as an informational planning tool. Calculations are estimates and are not a commitment to lend or lease, an offer of credit, a Ford Credit or Ford Pro FinSimple quote, a credit approval, or a representation of an actual payment that may be available to any customer.
The default 8.49% rate displayed in this calculator is an illustrative planning assumption selected by FleetOrdering.com and is not a Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit or Ford Pro FinSimple advertised rate. Actual rates and financing terms depend on creditworthiness, business qualifications, vehicle, program availability and other factors and may be higher or lower.
Residual percentages used by this calculator are planning assumptions only and are not current Ford residual quotes. The calculator changes the planning residual automatically when the selected term changes. Actual CommerciaLease residual values and structures are determined as part of the actual transaction and are subject to approval and applicable program requirements.
Commercial upfit cost is included in the calculator’s estimated capitalized amount, but this estimator does not separately assign residual value to the upfit. Eligible commercial equipment may receive different treatment in an actual approved lease transaction.
Estimated payments may not include all taxes, registration, title, documentation charges, acquisition charges, fees, insurance, optional products, equipment, upfits or other amounts that may apply to an actual transaction.
Tax treatment varies by jurisdiction and business situation. Consult your tax or accounting professional regarding the tax treatment of a commercial vehicle purchase or lease.
Optional products including GAP coverage, Ford Protect service plans and maintenance products are subject to eligibility, availability, terms, limitations and exclusions. Upfits and specialized equipment are also subject to eligibility and approval.
