Personal vehicles & commercial Ford orders
Build the Ford you need, then plan how to pay for it and care for it. Compare financing, Red Carpet Lease, commercial TRAC leasing and cash purchase with Frank.
Start with personal or business use, annual mileage, upfits and how long you expect to keep the vehicle. Compare the total amount due, payment schedule and end-of-term responsibilities—not just the advertised monthly payment.
| Option | What it is | Consider it when | What to review |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cash purchase | Buy the vehicle without a vehicle loan or lease. | You prefer ownership and an upfront purchase. | Cash committed, taxes, fees, upkeep and future resale value. |
| Installment financing | Purchase with scheduled loan payments. | You want ownership and flexibility in how long you keep the vehicle. | APR, term, down payment, total finance charge and total payments. |
| Red Carpet Lease | A closed-end lease for eligible vehicles and use. | Your mileage and use are predictable and you may want a different vehicle at lease end. | Mileage allowance, excess wear, fees, return requirements and purchase-option terms. |
| Commercial TRAC lease | An open-ended business lease with an agreed residual. | Commercial mileage or eligible upfits call for a business lease. | Your responsibility for the residual and a possible lease-end balance. |
All financing and leasing is subject to approval, vehicle and use eligibility, and current program terms. This comparison is general information, not a financing offer or a credit decision.
Installment financing lets you buy a Ford with scheduled payments. After you satisfy the contract, the vehicle is yours to keep, sell or trade. We can discuss personal or commercial financing around your intended use.
Review the approved APR, payment schedule, amount financed, down payment, taxes, fees and total cost. Confirm which vehicle, upfit and optional protection costs can be included. A longer term may lower a payment while increasing total interest.
A Red Carpet Lease is a closed-end lease. At lease end, you may return the vehicle under the agreement or review an available purchase option. Agreed mileage, vehicle condition and return requirements matter.
Commercial Red Carpet Lease is intended for eligible, predictable light-duty use. Heavy commercial use or upfits may require a different program. Frank can confirm whether your chosen vehicle and application qualify.
Ask for a written comparison showing the amount due at signing, all scheduled payments, mileage allowance, excess-mileage rate, wear-and-use obligations, fees and purchase-option price. Check any GAP protection already included in your lease before considering additional coverage.
TRAC means Terminal Rental Adjustment Clause. Ford’s open-ended commercial lease can accommodate eligible business vehicles and upfits. It does not use the mileage restrictions or excess-wear penalties typical of a closed-end lease.
You remain responsible for the agreed residual value at lease end. If the sale proceeds fall short of the contractual amount due, you may owe the difference. Mileage, condition and equipment affect resale value even when there is no mileage penalty.
Review commercial-use eligibility, the approved residual, term, payment schedule, upfit value and the plan to buy, sell or replace the vehicle at lease end. The lowest payment is not necessarily the best residual strategy.
A cash purchase avoids a vehicle loan or lease payment. You still need to plan for taxes, fees, insurance, fuel or charging, maintenance, repairs and eventual replacement. Optional eligible protection or maintenance plans can be discussed for a cash purchase too.

See how the vehicle cost, term, estimated rate and residual assumption affect a planning estimate.
Match how you acquire the vehicle to how long it will remain useful to you.
Calculators provide estimates, not approved rates, residuals or offers. The TRAC calculator is not a Red Carpet Lease quote. Ask Frank for a current, vehicle-specific lease or finance proposal.
Plan for the vehicle’s care while you plan its purchase. These optional products address different costs. Ask for an itemized comparison with and without each plan, matched to your vehicle, personal or commercial use, mileage and ownership period.
An extended service plan can help pay for covered mechanical repairs after applicable factory-warranty coverage ends. Choose the coverage level, time, mileage and deductible for your needs.
An extended service plan is a separate contract. It does not cover every repair or routine maintenance. Confirm commercial-use eligibility and treatment of aftermarket upfit components.
A maintenance plan can prepay covered scheduled services and selected wear items, helping you budget for routine care over the chosen term and mileage.
Covered services, service intervals and wear items depend on the written plan and vehicle. A maintenance plan and a mechanical-repair service plan cover different needs.
GAP may address an eligible shortfall between an insurance total-loss settlement and the covered finance balance after a qualifying theft or total loss.
Personal and commercial GAP products have different eligibility and exclusions. Ford’s retail GAP product excludes business-titled or business-use vehicles; ask about the appropriate commercial product. GAP is not a repair or maintenance plan.
Eligible tire-and-wheel coverage, such as Ford Protect TireCARE Plus, can help with covered road-hazard damage.
Review the covered hazards, exclusions, eligibility, term and claim limits. Normal tire wear or every type of wheel damage is not automatically covered.
Ask Frank to put the vehicle, eligible upfit and selected protection products into one written proposal. Where permitted and approved, eligible products may be included in the financing or lease transaction. Financing a product adds to the amount financed and can add interest.
The goal is a more predictable budget, not a guarantee of zero unexpected expenses. Optional products have prices, limits and exclusions and are not required to obtain financing. Review the actual contracts before choosing coverage.
For contractors and busy drivers, an eligible mobile-service appointment may reduce the need to take the vehicle to a dealership. Participating Ford dealers can perform selected maintenance and repairs at an agreed location, including some oil changes, tire rotations, battery work and other services.
Ask Frank to check the service address, vehicle, work required, site access and local availability. Participating dealers set distance and availability limits. A mobile visit does not mean parts, maintenance or repairs are free; confirm charges and any applicable plan coverage before booking.

Shelving, racks, service bodies and other equipment affect the finished vehicle’s cost, weight and usefulness. Confirm compatibility, capacity, installation scope and warranty responsibility. Eligible upfits may be included in an approved transaction; not every lease program permits modifications.
A Ford Commercial Line of Credit can be worth reviewing for recurring eligible vehicle purchases or leases. A FIN Code identifies an eligible fleet customer; it is separate from credit approval. Discuss the appropriate business program and current requirements with Frank.
Personal driving, contractor use, passenger transport and heavy work can call for different vehicle, lease and protection choices. Start with the build, then review annual mileage, payload, towing, upfits and intended ownership period.
Keeping the vehicle for many years? Compare ownership and coverage terms over that period. Replacing it on a schedule? Compare the lease-end obligations and likely condition of the completed vehicle.
Tell Frank which Ford you are considering, whether it is for work or personal use, expected annual mileage, upfit needs and how long you want to keep it. We can review the build, purchase or lease options, protection, maintenance and available delivery or service arrangements together.
Do not send Social Security numbers, bank details or credit applications through a general inquiry or build-upload form. Any financing application is completed through the appropriate approved process.
